Welcome to WallSwipe. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights in relation to it.
1. Information We Collect and Why
WallSwipe is designed to keep your data on your device. We do not collect or transmit your personal data or configurations to our servers.
A. Data Stored Locally (On Your Device)
This information is stored in the app's private database on your phone or in shared preferences. It is never sent to us or any third party.
- Repository Configurations: When you add a repository (like FTP or Custom API), we store the credentials you provide (Name, Address, Login, API Keys, Remote Path) locally to allow the app to connect to your servers.
- Liked/Disliked Lists: Saved locally to manage your "Liked" and "Disliked" tabs.
- User Preferences: Interest tags (e.g., "space") are saved locally to personalize Pexels API results.
- Local Gallery References: We only save references (URIs) to images you select. We do not copy your photos.
B. Data Collected by Third-Party Services
We use external services to provide advertising and default content.
- Google AdMob: May collect data (Ad ID, IP address) to serve personalized ads. Review Google's Privacy Policy.
- Pexels API: Used for the default wallpaper stream. Pexels may collect anonymous usage data.
2. Application Permissions Explained
android.permission.INTERNET
Necessary to download wallpapers (Pexels, FTP, API) and display ads (AdMob).
android.permission.SET_WALLPAPER
Core function allowing the app to set your chosen background.
READ_MEDIA_IMAGES / READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE
Required only if you create a "Local Gallery" repository to read images you select. We do not scan your gallery without action.
WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE
Required on Android 9 and older to temporarily save wallpapers before setting them.
3. Data Security
We take security seriously. All sensitive data (like FTP passwords) is stored exclusively in the app's private local database. However, no electronic storage is 100% secure.
4. Children's Privacy
Our service is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13.
5. Changes to This Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.
